Restoration Project: New Orleans |
|
|
July 24 - 31, 2010 Restoration is a new project that has been designed to challenge students that BEING in Christ, leads to DOING the work of Christ, which ultimately leads to being the FAMILY of Christ. The Restoration Project will allow students to experience this rhythm of life culturally, spiritually, and physically . The ministry consists of having students better understand who they are in Christ and what Christ calls them to be in the world. It is also designed to help them understand that being in Christ will lead them to be active in doing and being involved with others, especially the poor, the oppressed, and the overlooked. With this goal in mind, Restoration goes into a local community, establishes relationships with ministries and individuals by partnering with the local community. Restoration is a wonderful opportunity to combine fun, fellowship and service with the purpose of continuing this daily rhythm in each student's community and throughout their lives. The average day will be split up into thirds. The first "third" will focus on Being God's people through spiritual disciplines and biblical literacy. The second "third" is all about Being God's people through service by doing His work within a community. Finally we will experience Being a part of God's family through worshiping, laughing, processing, and ultimately growing together in Christ. To learn more about this ministry, please email Danny Dotson or Nate Stratman. |
